The "Bonn model for Interaction Analysis" is described as a novel listing approach analysing the interactions an motion response behaviour of mothers and their up to one year old infants, linking this with their bonding behaviour. This is compared to and contrasted to up to date published results of bonding research and the infant behavioural analysis. Observation of mother/infant interaction was begun almost immediately after birth, continuing until the Foreign Situation Test at around the child's first birthday. The observation is based in v. Laban's basic model of three categories: "power", "space" and "time". Interaction information is extracted regarding "drive and motivation", "foreign- and self-perception" as well as "rhythm and dynamics". This method has already been successfully trialled at the Cologne-Bonn-Academy of Psychotherapy (KBAP) and the German Institute for Psychoanalytical Dance and Motion Therapy (DITAT), where it was originally developed.
