摘要
The odor problem around a viscose rayon factory in Arnhem, The Netherlands, was studied quantitatively in a 4 mo program. Methods were developed to relate systematic odor observations in the field to momentary concentrations of two different tracer gases (H//2S and CS//2). Also a relationship between odor observations and 1 h average CS//2-concentrations was assessed. A simple method is described to characterize the long term average odor detectability in the vicinity of the source, and to estimate the impact of an emission reduction on odor detectability.
