摘要：
A study of 411 senior faculty members from 24 academic disciplines was undertaken at Syracuse University. Analysis reveals significant differences in productivity, both in total publications and type of publication, among various disciplines. Significant differences were also found between the most senior and most junior of the faculty surveyed, but not among intermediate groups. In general, productivity increases over time.
