Yugoslavia at the Threshold of a Systemic Crisis (1960s - 1970s)

The author studies two reasons underlying the 1980s crisis in the SDR Yugoslavia and dating back to the 1960s-1870s, i.e.1) turning of the country into a confederation as a result of a constitutional reform; 2) the beginning of suppression of any dissent among the intellectual elite of all the republics. LVith. reference to archival and published documents as well as Russian and :foreign studies, the author concludes that as early as the 1960s and 1970s Yugoslavia was heading to a crisis, the country's breakup and bloody wars.
