HOW DOES BINOCULAR DELAY GIVE INFORMATION ABOUT DEPTH

摘要
Observers watched spots of light move stroboscopically (but apparently smoothly) against a background of dynamic noise. Binocular delay of the moving spots, without any binocular disparity, yields vivid stereoscopic depth. Acuity is 160μsec. which corresponds to about 2″ of arc of virtual disparity. Delay combines additively with disparity. © 1979.
