摘要
The presence of haptoglobin in chicken [Gallus domesticus] serum was demonstrated by 3 different techniques: gel filtration, cellulose acetate electrophoresis and fluorescence quenching. Chicken haptoglobin showed a narrow species specificity. It bound only avian and reptilian but not mammalian Hb. Haptoglobin was apparently subjected to profound changes during the course of evolution.
