摘要
Education as a socializing institution at the service of citizens fulfills the propaganda function of transmitting the knowledge and discoveries that previous generations had achieved, while propagating the values, attitudes and social norms of each historical period. The period analyzed corresponds to the beginning of the 20th century until the death of General Franco in 1975. In this long period we distinguished three very significant and important moments in the History of Education in Spain: The beginning of the 20th century, Education in the Second Republic and education during the Spanish Civil War and finally Education in the Franco regime. In each of the three periods indicated we can see the great importance that the governments of the nation granted to Education for the strength that it has as a propaganda tool and also its mission in the formation of citizens who can perpetuate or change the established powers.
