摘要：
The paper focuses on identifying the cycles of employment growth, its duration and depth in three metropolitan areas of Mexico (Juarez, Leon and Merida). In addition, it verifies the degree of synchronization between the metropolitan cycles and the national cycle (and USA). Monthly permanent employment data from 2000-2017 were used. The cycles were determined using the Hodrik-Prescott filter and synchronization using VAR models and a cohesion force measurement known as LINK. Two complete cycles were identified in Juarez, one in Leon and Merida respectively. Regarding synchronization, Juarez is relatively more vulnerable to national and U.S. shocks. Leon and Merida react more to local clashes.
