摘要：

The main purpose of this article is to expose some of the key elements than have structured the form and content of the indigenous peoples' right to self-determination, from the creation of the United Nations system, up until the current day. Furthermore, the article will focus on some of the key questions and issues, generated in recent years, from the 2007 United Nations Declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples.
