PULMONARY AND BONE LOCALIZATIONS OF TUBERCULOSIS DUE TO MYCOBACTERIUM-BOVIS

摘要：
We report a case of tuberculosis due to Mycobacterium bovis. A 25-year-old black patient who was born in Senegal and had moved to France in 1991, was admitted to hospital in 1993. He presented with cough, fever (39 degrees C), asthenia and diarrhea. Tuberculin test was up to 10 mm. He was seronegative for HIV. He presented with tuberculosis pneumonia and costal lysis. Stained smears of the sputum were positive for acid-fast bacilli. Despite treatment with isoniazid, rifampin, ethambutol and pyrazinamide, fever and asthenia persisted. Magnetic resonance imaging of spinal column showed three asymptomatic localizations of tuberculosis of the vertebrae. Recovery followed therapy associating ofloxacin, steroids, and rest in bed added to the previous treatment administred intravenously.
