摘要
This study aims at selecting databases and analyzing search terms in order to monitor the scientific advances on nanocellulose. Cellulose-based nanomaterials are sustainable and have a high importance at the worldwide and Brazilian contexts. The selection method involves choosing bibliographic databases dedicated to the Materials and Metallurgical Engineering subarea from the Capes Journal Platform/MEC, and the evaluation of considering pertinent criteria for scientific monitoring. To the search expression, the role of each term is analyzed separately. The results show that multidisciplinary databases have similar answers towards the selection criteria while specific databases diverge considerably. It is found that publications with search terms havint the root "nano" only grows after 2001. The outcomes suggest that the systematic selection and analysis proposal generates insights and contributions to the advancement of scientific monitoring in complex, interdisciplinary and emerging areas, particularly in nanocelulose
