In the Margins of the Experience of Lobo Antunes: Trauma and Representation in Times of War

This article examines how the trauma is part of the literary writing of the Portuguese Antonio L. Antunes, from the novel Os Cus de Judas as a result of his experience with the colonial war in Angola. It is intended, therefore, to investigate how the traumatic memory deconstructs and reconstructs the discourse of the author/character/narrator. It is noteworthy that the loboantunesiana literature breaks the seals that prevented describe the traumatic event through language, becoming spokesman, among many other writers, a trace of literature testimonial, autobiographical and memorialistic. The research, arising from the doctoral thesis in Culture and Society, seeks theoretical support in Gagnebin (2006), Assmann (2011), Hall (1990), Halbwachs (2006), among others, dialoguing interdisciplinary. The results show that the war trauma contribute to the reframing of knowledge that deconstructs human thought around the life, preventing in the future, man has to face these situations of extreme limit.
