Contexts of Interreligiosity of Dialogue in a Globalized World (with Regard to Martin Buber's Dialogue Pedagogy)

Religions are entangled with the dynamics of the North-South respectively East-West dialogue. This paper claims that, before being able to engage in an interreligious dialogue, it is vital to have a closer look at the intrareligious dialogue. Losing the fundament of one's religious faith can lead to fundamentalism, which is a frequent reaction to the loss of feelings of belonging and continuity as well as a consequence of identity crisis, alienation and a kind of misguided desire or longing for something. In this context, Martin Buber's Dialogue Pedagogy proves itself a valuable approach.
