摘要：
The use of expert systems is now quite commonplace in virtually all areas of engineering and science. However, despite their significant utility many commercially available development shells constrain users to consultation and advice-giving dialogues that are primarily textual in nature. This paper discusses: (1) the need to incorporate pictorial forms into expert system dialogue; and (2) ways in which pictures and images can be embedded within such dialogues.
