摘要：

Maxillary sinusitis is a disease characterized by the reaction of inflammation and/ or infection of the maxillary sinus mucosa. The odontogenic origin is found in about 5% to 10% of cases. The causes of odontogenic sinusitis are: caries, periodontal disease, odontogenic cysts and iatrogenic. The diagnosis is made by anamnesis, physical examination and specific imaging tests. The treatment of sinusitis of odontogenic origin involves the elimination of the dental causal factors and the management of the maxillary sinus infection. The aim of this paper is to present a case of a patient with iatrogenic odontogenic sinusitis caused by extraction and its treatment through cleaning of the maxillary sinus concomitant to closure of oroantral fistula associated with drug therapy.
