摘要
This article shows the Social Control Strategies established in the border territories of "Cauca Department provinces" by "Nueva Granada" State in "Patia" valley, "Caloto" wild environs-"Palmira" and the boundaries to the southern part of "Almaguer". In this sense, it is showed how the seizing of remarkable men from those villages was the mechanism by means of which the Republic penetrated the mentioned areas by naming them clerical officials (Mayors, judges, or police superintendents) or soldiering officials. That action allowing the presence of the Republic in the boundaries was precarious, since it relied on the mediation of remarkable local people enabling the boundaries to endure and stand firm as a way to an alternate social organization to the hegemonic model.
