RAPID AND ACCURATE TITRIMETRIC METHOD FOR THE ANALYSIS OF IRON AND ALUMINUM IN PRESENCE OF NICKEL, CALCIUM AND MAGNESIUM

Principles of standard complexometric titrations have been used and arranged in a new sequential order to analyse trace quantities of iron and aluminium in presence of nickel, calcium and magnesium. The results obtained on known systems (admixtures) are in good agreement with those expected. The method though appears to be specific to the solutions containing above metal ions, it is more useful for solutions containing iron where atomic absorption spectroscopy results indicate lower values than expected due to suppression of absorption for iron in presence of nickel.
