Based on the spectacle Talking to my dad, this essay analyses the linguistic dialogue between theater and documentary film in the contemporary art-world. In doing so, I will expand Claudine de France's concept of "auto-mise-en-scene," following the developments proposed by Louis Cormolli in his essay collection Ver e Poder - A inocencia Perdida: cinema, televisao, ficcao, documentario, released in Brazil in 2008.
