摘要：
The basic concepts of the Quality Criteria are discussed and the role of image quality in radiation protection strategies highlighted. The need for consistency between the clinical, technical and scientific aspects of the Quality Criteria is discussed in terms of the inter-relationships which exist between these three aspects. Future areas for research and development which can help to strengthen the overall framework, and applicability of the Quality Criteria are considered.
