摘要
Modal functions have a continuous-time ARMA structure and by appropriate choice of modal parameters can be used as dynamic state observers. This paper gives a comprehensive discussion of modal function state observers and their closed-loop properties when used to realize state-variable feedback. It is shown that modal functions can be designed by frequency-response methods to realize dynamic compensation. In the case of time-delay systems it is shown that time-advanced states can be estimated and used to realize predictive dynamic feedback compensation.
