摘要
Several factors including early retirement, increased longevity, diminished mobility, and the determination of an aging population to be recognized, respected, and accepted have coalesced to focus new attention on aging and the aged. One of the major concerns emanating from this new movement has been the role/function of exercise and physical fitness upon the health status of the aging. Commentary is offered regarding the benefits of exercise and some new educational approaches and curricular modifications are identified, which are designed to promote health and well-being among the elderly. © 1979 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
