摘要：

The paper starts with a genealogical and critical revision of intercultural studies and intercultural communication as ideology and control; then it analyses the development and strengthen of these studies, from the contribution of some theories and disciplines (linguistic, discourse, among others); thirdly, it focuses in the case of inclusion/exclusion of ethnic communities: urban/rural, modern/premodern; finally, it analyses ethnic communities, to review their incorporation to media- focused logic of social discourse of the media.
