Employee assistance programs are dedicated to providing cost effective quality health care for employees and dependents in need of mental health and chemical dependency treatments. The author describes the AT&T program that is working with managed care systems to administer mental health benefits. The customer/supplier relationship between employee assistance programs and provider networks is discussed.
