ANALYSIS OF VEGETABLE DRUGS FOR RESIDUES OF ORGANOCHLORINE PESTICIDES

206 samples of 36 various commercial vegetable drugs were analyzed in the period of 1986-1989 by GLC for contamination with residues of HCH and DDT Values of sample concentrations ranged from 0. 006 to 2.111 mg/kg for HCH and from 0.005 to 9.207 mg/kg for DDT. Average content per drug item was 0.013 to 0.453 mg/kg for HCH, respectively 0.010 to 0.961 mg/kg for DDT The tolerance limits of HCH and DDT residues according to Pharmacopeia of G. D. R. (both 0.5 mg/kg) were exceeded in 9 % of samples. Further valuations are discussed.
