摘要
A set of mathematical identities is derived which relates dry matter production to the availability of above- and below-ground resources, to the efficiency of resource capture, to the efficiency of resource utilization, to the activity of above- and below-ground organs and to the partitioning of dry matter in the plant. This integrated analysis can be adapted in various ways according to the needs and objectives of the study in hand: it ultimately rests upon relatively simple primary data and gives clearly relevant derived quantities. © 1990 Annals of Botany Company.
