摘要
Despite a decrease in dislocation density when exposed to elevated temperatures, no change in cell dimension was observed at a temperature of 800 degree C for 30 min. For all processing temperatures, the hardness of the rapidly solidified material is higher than that of its sand cast counterpart. From the results of TEM study as well as mechanical properties evaluation, it is suggested that the rapidly solidified alloy does not show any drastic effect of thermal treatment. That is, conventional consolidation techniques can be employed in fabrication.
