摘要：

Prologue to a just appeared book on the history of Chilean scientific psychology, in which the main topics and problems that such a research has encountered are here delineated. There has been a rapid development of the professional field in that country, and, at the same time, interest for historical questions has been relegated to a marginal place. The book has been conceived to rectify such an oblivion, giving its place to the historical and critical reflection on that field.
