PSEUDOSPIN RELAXATION IN FERROMAGNETIC CLUSTERS

摘要
A simple model Hamiltonian is proposed to explain the magnetic properties of size-selected cold iron clusters probed by Stern-Gerlach deflections in a molecular beam. Single-sided deflections are well reproduced by this model, which invokes the coupling of the spin system to the cluster framework via the magnetic anisotropy energy. The model does not assume thermal relaxation and the alignment of the magnetic moment with the field is reversible.
