摘要
: This paper addresses the analvsis of electromagnetic transients on nonuniform lines, with special attention paid to those relevant to power networks. Following a survey of the currently available methods (travelling-wave and time-domain solutions), the applicability of a proposed s-domain, distributed-parameter direct simulation technique is demonstrated. It is shown that this approach yields exact solutions in cases where the characteristic impedance at any line point can be represented by some analytic function of the coordinate of that point. Two examples are discussed in this regard. Comparison between the different techniques, as well as the advantages and limitations of the suggested one, are given. © 1990 IEEE
