摘要
Polymeric composites are recognized as the most promising materials in various firms due to their superior performance. However, these polymeric materials suffer from low toughness, and also, they are susceptible to environmental degradation when they are exposed to harsh environments. In this regard, the present investigation has been carried out to evaluate the influence of various nanofillers (multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT), nano-silica (NS)) on the mechanical and thermal responses of epoxy (0.1NS/epoxy, 0.1MWCNT/epoxy, 0.1NS + 0.1MWCNT/epoxy) composites. Nanocomposite with 0.1MWCNT + 0.1NS/epoxy exhibited better flexural strength and flexural modulus values over other experimented composites. Through differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis, the glass transition temperature (Tg) of experimental composites was evaluated. Furthermore, the fractography study is also carried out to understand hybrid nanocomposites' various failure modes. Copyright (C) 2022 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
