The paper starts with an attempt to analyze Hegel's master-slave dialectic on the basis of the concepts of consciousness and self-consciousness within the context of Hegel's interpretation of history, accompanied by major terms such as absolutism, liberation and self-consciousness. The next step to take is to include the moment self-consiousness steps in the field of art, as well as critical discourse in artistic creations; in order to pave the way for a reinterpretation of the following-regarding critical consciousness as focus: 1. The awareness that the artist develops against the reality surrounding her/him, 2. To put a rebellion into practice via the art works performed, and, 3. The major movements in art belonging to the different eras of art history, which are reflections of the mentioned rebellion. The further analyses in the field of art include feminist rhetoric as a rebellion to the awareness mentioned, along with language and critical awareness in the sample of Barbara Kruger. Analyzing Barbara Kruger's works within the context of Hegel's master-slave dialectic provides us with the possibility of examining sampled works, space designs and collage designs with the written-visual figures, with regard to dependent and independent self-consciousness indicators. The method of research is a descriptive study on the basis of universe and of the sample. In the study, using the affinity model, the comparison type screening method was used in the relational screening model.
