摘要
The syntheses as well as the chemical and electrochemical reduction of a series of novel oligo(phenylenevinylenes) are described. The extended pi-chains are built up by sequences of Wittig reactions, and the corresponding polyanions are generated by electron-transfer reactions and characterized by NMR spectroscopy and quenching experiments. The charge-storage capacity, the charge distribution, and the stereodynamic behavior of the anions are examined as a function of the chain length, the linkage of the stilbene subunits, and the presence of phenyl substituents. The reduction of the title compounds serves as a suitable model experiment for the doping of the corresponding poly(phenylenevinylenes).
