CONCENTRATION QUENCHING OF FLUORESCENCE FROM 1D2 STATE OF PR-3+ IN YPO4

摘要
Decay time measurements and concentration quenching studies for the 1D2 fluorescence of Pr3+ in YPO4 are performed at RT and LNT by varying Pr3+ concentration from 0.01% to 20%. From the studies the radiative lifetime of the 1D2 state and the energy transfer rates from it are deduced. The possible mechanisms of energy transfer are discussed and their relative importance in the Pr3+ concentration range of our studies is inferred.
