The distribution of two types of proprioceptors: hair plates and groups of pores on mesothoracic legs was studied in representatives of poorly-flying insects: Ephemera vulgata L. (Ephemoroptera), Nemura cinerea (Retzius) (Plecoptera), Raphidia ophiopsis L. (Raphidioptera), Micromus variegatus F. (Planipennia) and Panorpa communis L. (Mecoptera). The number and distribution of proprioceptors on the legs were compared between good and poor fliers, and the homology of trochanteral hair plates was identified.
