PREVALENCE OF SEXUAL INTERCOURSE AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS AMONG STUDENTS FROM FIVE PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN THE CITY OF SANTA MARTA

摘要
Suicide is a public health problem that every day is in progress worldwide, and Colombia, as the city of Santa Marta, are no strangers to this phenomenon, so that the objective was to study the epidemiology of the same during the period years between 2004 and 2010. Data were obtained from the information provided by the Colombian Institute of Forensic Medicine and Science, North Coast Regional. It was found that 112 people consummated suicide during the seven years studied. The average number of suicides for the period was 16 years, 16 people committed suicide in female (15.7%) and 84.3% for men. The age at which most committed suicide was between 20 and 34 years with a prevalence of 44.6%, the most common method was hanging at 64%, equivalent to 72 cases, the level of schooling that best presented was who had completed full secondary (15.1%), the most prevalent marital status was to be presented with a 29.4% single. On Sunday is where most suicides occur un18.8% of the total in March with 13.4%. We conclude that the suicide rate has been increasing over the past two years, from a rate of 2.4 in 2009 to 4.0 in 2010 per 100 inhabitants.
