摘要
After the conquest of Toledo in the eleventh century, the taxes collected in the locality by the Muslim emir were integrated into what was known as the almojarifazgo or treasure of the new Castilian monarch. However, over time the kings gave up most of that income coming from various economic activities in favour of the city, which formed its own municipal almojarifazgo, as well as those of the archbishopric and of some noble. Thus, the formation of the municipal, diocesan and manorial treasuries was made at the expense of the royal, which in the 15th and 16th centuries only had an almost worthless customs duty within its almojarifazgo.
