摘要
In the Volga-Ural Region large coal accumulation are discovered. The total resources and reserves of it are approximately 3.5 billion tons. Coal formation had proceeded in four stages: the Devonian, Carboniferous, Permian, and Neogene. The Devonian and Carboniferous coals are of high quality. Carboniferous coals have extensive resources but occur at 900-1400 m depth. Some of them contain elevated concentrations of rare elements including rare earth elements. Permian and Neogene coals are referred to bevey coals. Permian coals contain high concentrations of some rare elements. Their geochemical specialization is determined by Ge-Cu-Ag association. Neogene coals are of low quality and do not contain high concentration of microelements. Only Visean callows can present an economic value.
