摘要
Fault trees and, more generally, logical trees maintain a predominant role as a modeling technique in safety and diagnostic analysis, even though there is an increased awareness of the intrinsic limitations of the technique. As a consequence, research on the formalization and automatization of logical tree construction has attracted and is still attracting the interest of many a researcher. In this paper we discuss the principal advantages and problems related with automated or computer assisted fault tree construction and we present a review of the main approaches taken.
