摘要
XMCD sum rules are checked through an analytical calculation of Cu2+ L(2,3) edge. The sum rules are analytically satisfied as expected from the very general arguments developed in their derivation by Thole and Carra (1993). Analytical expressions for [L(z)], [S-z] and [T-z] are obtained as functions of crystal field strength and spin-orbit coupling. The nullity of [T-z] is specially examined through group theory considerations.
