摘要
Looking at the Environment was developed by the ARS Project and funded by a PIRTU grant from Castilla y Leon. The aim is to reduce the social stigma attached to Alzheimer's and other dementias, as well as to slow down the progressive deterioration patients suffer due to memory loss by reducing the four "A's" involved in Alzheimer's: Agitation, Anxiety, Aggression and Apathy. Starting from the idea that art can change the way we see the world, the patients take part in an artistic process, such as photography, which can actually transform their vision of the centre in which they reside. The course also aims to generate a change of space and improve the quality of patients' lives in an attempt to make their stay in the different units more enjoyable. This project was carried out in the State Reference Centre for people with Alzheimer's and other Dementias by the Imserso of Salamanca.
