A NEW GENERALIZATION OF THE REYNOLDS-EQUATION FOR A MICROPOLAR FLUID AND ITS APPLICATION TO BEARING THEORY

摘要
The generalized Reynolds equation that takes into account all possible variations in boundary viscosity and microrotations near the friction surface is derived and an example of its application to calculation of slider bearing performance is given. It is shown that the friction coefficient of the bearing can be sufficiently decreased without a noticeable change in its load capacity by variation of interaction between a micropolar lubricant and friction surfaces.
