摘要
The characterization of the passive film formed on austenitic stainless steel (17% Cr-8% Ni) in a borate-boric acid solution at pH 9.2 was carried out by Auger electron spectroscopy. The quantitative approach used gives exact information about thickness and structure of the different layers which compose the passive films formed at various potentials. The identification of the iron oxidation states and of the hydrated species, conducted by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, complements the analytical research.
