This annual review of the state-of-the-art P/M industry examines worldwide growth, automotive markets and improved materials properties. Market expansion via improvements in P/M equipment and processes is highlighted and recognition is given to the phenomenal growth of metal injection molding. These comments reflect input from Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) member companies which were surveyed about P/M's future and important trends in the 1990s.
