NATURE OF THE ACTIVE-SITES ARISING IN THE RADIOLYSIS OF ALUMINUM-OXIDE

摘要
The radiolysis of Al2O3 is accompanied by the formation of paramagnetic centers (PMC), the ESR spectrum of which does not depend on the temperature of recording (77-300 K) and represents an asymmetrical singlet with DELTA-H = 4.3 mT, related to ionic centers, >0-. The accumulation of PMC occurs with G = 10 particles/100 eV. In UV illumination of the irradiated Al2O3 samples, the intensity of the ESR spectrum decreases, while the concentration of PMC decreases, by -80% in this case. The rate of polymerization of tetrachloroethylene on irradiated Al2O3 samples drops sharply. The polymerization of TFE could not be recorded on the original aluminum oxide, subjected to photolysis.
