摘要
Background. Since 2007, 130 senior registrars have been appointed in general practice and 13 of them have become senior lecturers via the national council of universities. The creation of the General Practice Subsection 53-03 in March 2015 was deemed an appropriate point at which to describe the work of senior registrars. Objective. To describe the healthcare, teaching and research of senior registrars in general practice operating in October 2014. Method. Descriptive survey by an online self-administered questionnaire. Health care, teaching, and research have been described: organization, content, training, job satisfaction and prospects. Results. Of the 95 senior registrars of general practice operating at the date of the study, 75 (79%) responded: average age 32 years; sex ratio F/M 2.4. They spent respectively 5, 2 and 3 half days per week in healthcare, teaching and research. The healthcare activity was predominantly carried out in the community (73%) - 39% worked as part of a multiprofessional team - taking on 50 consultations per week. The number of patients reporting them as their main doctor increased significantly during the fellowship. The educational activity was related to students specializing in general practice (median 86 hours per year). A third of the senior registrars were tutors in their practice. The research activity increased significantly during the fellowship. The majority of senior registrars had training in research and an ongoing project (45% in a registered group). Research topics were varied and relevant to the disciplinary field. Conclusion. During the fellowship, the balancing, and even the reinforcement, of healthcare and research activities is accompanied by a significant investment in educational provision. This dynamic must continue, in order to increase the modeling role of the teacher-researcher in general practice.
