摘要
Alkaline papermaking has resulted, in many cases, in-significantly increased press fabric wear. Laboratory and field results seem to relate this to the abrasiveness of the calcium carbonate filler, whether PCC or natural grades, as well higher filler loading. It has been found that lost life may be restored by optimizing fabric design and running conditions. The steps required to optimize performance are presented, along with the results obtained.
