摘要
This article reviews Deely's 2010 book, Semiotic Animal, with its argument that to embrace the semiotic animal as the core of human being is to embrace the interdependence between ourselves and everything else. The article considers other formulations of the nature of humanity aside from Deely's and finds that their explanatory power is greatly limited by comparison.
