Welcome to the inaugural issue of the IEEE Journal on Exploratory Solid-State Computational Devices and Circuits (JXCDC). This issue begins an era of having a multidisciplinary IEEE journal focused on publishing seminal research toward the future exploration of energy-efficient computing based on physics, materials, devices, circuits, and architecture that will be of great interest to researchers and those working in the IT industry. © 2016 IEEE.
