The article is built on observations of the project Retrato do Outro, realized during 2009 in Joinville, Santa Catarina (BR) and which consisted of dance improvisations by Erika Rosendo in a public space. Theoretical studies about the body, texts on contemporary dance, postdramatic theater and, in particular, on the relationship between gesture and perception, are used to describe the object of study.
