The teaching of social sciences in the physical education class using the English language. A didactic proposal in a bilingual context

摘要
The introduction of bilingual programmes in the classrooms has been, and is, one of the biggest challenges of the Spanish educational system. However, it is difficult for teachers to use the correct methodology that integrates content and foreign language in bilingual schools. It must be borne in mind that it is highly benefitial to create didactic units that integrate English language and other subjects, such as Physical Education, Arts and Crafts or Sciences (Alario and Crespo, 2011). Therefore, aiming at providing an innovative didactic approach, we will introduce a proposal about a procedure which will show that Social Science contents can be achieved in a fun way. In order to do so, a variety of materials as well as unusual spaces, such as the ones in which the Physical Education sessions take place, will be used to teach Social Science through English language.
